Truth Sleuths Mystery Shopping

 

Mystery Shopping is commonly used by businesses to monitor, measure and improve their customer service as well as to reward or recognize exemplar employees. It is a type of market research where individuals are paid to anonymously audit a business against service and other standards. In mystery shopping, shoppers (or Truth Sleuths as fondly refer to them) act as ordinary customers on a regular visit to the store and complete a short questionnaire afterwards that documents their experience.

The Truth Sleuths program offers various types of mystery shopping including:

• Reveal shops – shoppers identify themselves and present a prize to deserving staff

• Telephone shops  – calls to hotlines, customer service numbers and call centres
• Internet shops – online shopping or browsing

• Competitor shopping – actual store visits at a competitors outlet
• Discrimination Testing – actual store visits by shoppers with specific demographic profiles.
• Promotion audits – actual store visits during a specified promotional time period

• Audio/visual shops – video and/or audio recorded shops (where allowed).
